A little Talk

I just finished reading Psalm 19.  David is an amazing writer.  He brings nature to life and uses it metaphorically to encourage us to communicate God's glory.  The chapter opens with nature proclaiming God's glory to every crevice of creation.  Then he talks about God's words and what they do to the heart and soul.  He, the Covenant God,  promises that His words will last forever.  David ends by asking God to search his heart and mind so that his words will be pleasing to His Covenant God.

I struggle with my mouth.  I want to pray as David did that my errors will be discerned, that my hidden faults will be forgiven, that the sins that I willfully commit will no longer rule me, that I will be blameless and innocent.  That the words of my mouth will be acceptable in the sight of God.

Worthy of its own blog...

My nephew said bye to me on the phone last night, and I quote, "Baaahhh, Aacchheebuu!" (Bye, Auntie Bec Bec)

Fowl Language

Either a whole flock of birds decided that my car was the pit stop on their way back north, or they ate too much Taco Bell and couldn't make it to the tree five feet away in time.  I have noticed, however, that polka dots are back in style!

If your name is Lake, I guess you might have a right to be in a hateful mood for your entire life, especially if you are a boy named Lake.  But I don't think you should take it out on the girl that married you despite your insecurities and anger issues.  Either grow up or change your name!

Sweet Henry

So I called my nephew the other day and he's totally saying his alphabet now!  He is an 18 month old prodigy.  My sister holds up the sign for the letter and he says it!  My favorites are EEEEEEEE and duboooo (E and W).  He can also say his name.  It sounds alot like HHHHHHHHHHHH.  We tried to get him to say Auntie Bec Bec, but he said bobee (mommy), which in a way is correct, since we look exactly alike.  But Rachel insists that it is her name and her name only!  He's growing up too fast and I'm missing most of it.  Not a very encouraging thought.  If my brother-in-law-weren't so "anti-below the Mason/Dixon line"...JK.
I miss my family alot and have a hard time holding back the tears at times.  The only thing that keeps me here is this undescribable peace that I am exactly where God wants me.  So, I stay.

I just started a regular blog on myspace.com/becteach3.  I probably will just cut and paste each entry.  I'm only on here to keep in touch with friends who have xanga sites.  But just for fun I'll write one blog exclusively for those of you who have come to my xanga site.

Yesterday I walked 17 miles, no kidding, with some of my friends.  If you know anything about Chattanooga, we walked from the walking bridge downtown all the way to Chickamauga Dam/Hwy 153.  Most of the path was along Amnicola, so I'm not too sure why they call it "Riverwalk."  There were some really pretty spots, though, and the fellowship was nice.  When we got to the dam, I was really wishing we'd had someone park there to take us back, but nope, we hadn't and we got to walk aaaallllllllllllll the way back.  I'll just say that trying to walk today has never been so difficult!  I'm just glad it was a nice day.  A little cold at times, but beautiful blue sky!

I tried to stay awake long enough when I got home to study for Sunday School, but I was passed out by 8:45!  Good thing Tom and Pastor were long-winded!
